Silverfast canon 9000f4/29/2023 Many of the best features of the Canon CanoScan 8800F have been retained, including mounted slides and medium format film in either positive or negative. The new film adaptor allows more light to penetrate the unit, enabling even faster speeds with one frame of 35mm negative film scanned in approximately 18 seconds (at 1,200dpi resolution). ![]() The 48-bit colour depth ensures exceptionally accurate colour rendition and images suitable for enlargement and high-resolution printing.Īlready boasting the fastest, highest quality film scanners on the market, Canon has excelled again as the CanoScan 9000F achieves new performance benchmarks. ![]() Quality has been enhanced to include a 9,600 x 9,600 dpi CCD sensor, providing unsurpassed reproduction with incredible detail capture. ![]() The CanoScan 9000F has evolved from the Canon CanoScan 8800F and boasts a number of new improved features to boost its productivity. United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, May 4th 2010 – Canon has today announced the launch of its latest top-of-the-range photo and document scanner, the CanoScan 9000F, designed to meet the needs of photographers requiring a versatile and productive scanner also capable of scanning a range of film transparencies. The package comes with Canon’s Film Automatic Retouching and Enhancement (FARE) Level 3 technology for getting rid of pesky dust and scratches using infrared light, plus Adobe Photoshop Elements, ArcSoft PhotoStudio and LaserSoft’s SilverFast SE.Ĭanon reckon their new CanoScan 9000F is a nippier number than previous models (scanning one frame of 35mm negative film should take approx 18 seconds), and it should be ready to hog a rather substantial amount of your desktop space from June 2010 priced at £229 / €240.Ĭanon’s CanoScan 9000F provides high quality film scanning at speed However, its also a bit less confusing if you try to run it in "idiot mode" without tweaking anything. If you’re looking for a high-end scanner capable of scanning a range of documents and film formats, the brand new CanoScan 9000F from Canon could be just the ticket.īoasting a hardware resolution of 9600x9600dpi, the photo and document scanner can also digitise both mounted 35mm slides and film strips in 35mm and 120 format, and supports a colour depth of 48 bits. Its UI feels even clunkier and more poorly organized, and its even worse at batch scanning. Vuescan is a lot cheaper, but also a lot more reliable as a piece of software. I just wish it had some real competition. Of course when you do figure it out, Silverfast is clearly the better program. The UI feels like a disorganized mess, and its difficult to actually figure out if you're doing things correctly. And it'll often make you restart it if anything about your scanner's state changes too much. The program won't even start unless it successfully detects your scanner, otherwise you're stuck in the launcher window. ![]() Multiple installations of the software are very poorly supported, and makes you feel like something's going to break whenever you want to install updates. You can't support multiple scanners without buying multiple licenses and having multiple installations of the software I feel like some UX person needs to thwap the developers over the head. Silverfast definitely feels like a more sophisticated and featureful piece of software, but its also clunky as hell.
